Dacic: Serbia had nothing to do with explosion, it's clear this is about Kurti's madness

Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic said today that none of the official bodies and representatives of Serbia, nor anyone who can be linked with Serbia, participated in the incident near Zubin Potok, and added that the Serbian police did not receive any inquiries from Pristina regarding that criminal act.

Dacic told RTS that, when it comes to the explosion on the Ibar-Lepenac canal, there is well-founded suspicion that the act was deliberately committed in order to put the blame on Serbia, adding that it is a disgraceful indicator of how far Pristina is ready to go to gain some political points.

"They said right from the start that Serbia was to blame, they already announced it to everyone, and no investigation had been conducted. I think it is clear to everyone, including the international community, that this is the madness of Albin Kurti, who considers Serbia to be an exponent of Russia and a factor of destabilization and uses this as an argument to attack Serbs living in Kosovo and Metohija," said Dacic.

He added that not a single inquiry has been received about the incident in Zubin Potok and pointed out that cooperation between Belgrade and the provisional Pristina police and judicial authorities is supposed to be taking place through international representatives - UNMIK, KFOR and EULEX, but that the problem is in Pristina not accepting that and not wanting to address Belgrade in that way, in order to demonstrate its so-called independence.

"In that sense, in the last few years, we have not had any inquiries coming, for example, from UNMIK, regarding police cooperation. During my last mandate, an agreement on cooperation with EULEX was signed, precisely for that reason," said Dacic.

Speaking about the explosion near Zubina Potok, Dacic asked why Serbia would destroy something it had built.

"That canal was built by the citizens of Serbia and of the former Yugoslavia. Why would we destroy it now, what would be our motive," Dacic asked.
