Aleksandra DJ. (33) from the vicinity of Jagodina has been arrested on suspicion of killing her newborn and leaving him in the freezer. She has five other minor children, who were immediately taken over of by the Center for Social Welfare and placed in foster families.

Their father has passed away, and no one knows who the father of the baby, who is suspected to have been killed by the mother, is.

"She used to live in that apartment where the baby's body was found. Rumor has it that before moving out, she made a copy of the key and later took the child there," says an acquaintance of the woman.

She added that the suspect moved out of the apartment where she left the child's body three months ago.

"The apartment was rented, the key was returned to the woman who was renting it, and she moved to another that her parents bought for her," says the acquaintance.

According to available information Aleksandra DJ. was immediately arrested and detained for up to 48 hours.

The prosecutor's office has ordered an autopsy that will determine the exact cause of the baby's death.

"Word spread around the village that she killed the baby. The police immediately went to the apartment where the mother lived before and found the baby's body in the freezer. It's suspected that it was there for several days," says a source.
