"And instead of supporting such a positive practice, the State Department is trying to prevent the passing of a twin law in Serbia. Non-governmental organizations are the basic means of distributing the money needed to organize and carry out 'colored revolutions'," Vulin said in a statement.
He stressed that a country that does not control that, like the US or Russia do, is a country that has no mechanisms to defend itself against insurrection.
"Through a series of gatherings, the PS will offer a public debate on the draft law on foreign agents and will invite representatives of NGOs and the US embassy to each meeting, and thus give them the opportunity to convince Serbia of their good intentions," Vulin said regarding the State Department's reaction.
A spokesperson said the US is "deeply concerned about the implications the proposed law on foreign agents in Serbia could have on democracy, human rights and fundamental freedoms, including freedom of expression and association."
