Former Serbian national wrestling team member, Zurabi Datunashvili, has been arrested during a protest in Tbilisi!

Datunashvili was one of the key figures during a mass protests in Georgia, that took place because the government there decided to suspend the process of joining the European Union until 2028.

Because of this, a large number of people appeared on the streets in protest, and the state responded by arresting the organizers.

Among them was Datunashvili, who received injuries to his neck and body, it has been stated.

Besides him, at least 15 other people ended up in the hospital.

A new series of protests began in Georgia on November 28, after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the decision to suspend the start of negotiations on the country's EU membership until 2028.

Demonstrators threw rocks, bottles, including flammable mixtures, and firecrackers at the parliament building, and on the night of December 1, a fire was caused.

Security forces responded by using special equipment, water cannons and occasionally tear gas.

Datunashvili won a bronze medal for Serbia at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
