WE LEARN! Autopsy of baby suspected to have been killed with pacifier by mother shows the boy died in agony

The autopsy of A 2-month-old boy, who is suspected to have been killed with a pacifier by his mother Tijana D. (23) last Tuesday in the family home in Lucka Reka in Ivanjica, has been completed. Telegraf has unofficially learned that the newborn died because the air supply was cut off, which led to suffocation and an agonizing death.

The suspect, Tijana D. (23), first confessed to the crime to the police, but then decided to remaining silent at the prosecutor's office. Expert examination has been ordered to determine whether or not she was of sound mind at the time of the commission of the crime.

The key witnesses were questioned by the police and will also be heard by the prosecution in Cacak.

After the crime, the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office told Telegraf:

"In the early morning hours of November 26, a 2-month-old baby was admitted to the Emergency Ward of the Health Center in Ivanjica, showing no signs of life. The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Cacak, along with the police in Cacak and in Ivanjica, is taking all measures and actions to determine all the circumstances which resulted in the death of the 2-month-old baby. Tijana D. has been detained."

It is suspected that Tijana D. suffocated her newborn son by cutting off the rubber part of the pacifier through which she put a thread, which she then put in the child's mouth and down his throat.

It is assumed that she wanted to cover up the murder, that is, to pull out the rubber out once the baby had died. The crime was allegedly discovered by her brother, i.e. the baby's uncle, and reported immediately.
