Exclusive video of Alija Balijagic being brought in by police: See what the double murderer looks like

Alija Balijagic, wanted for double murder in his country, Montenegro, was arrested around 3 o'clock last night in the village of Golesa near Priboj, southwestern Serbia.

Now an exclusive video of him being brought in to the Prijepolje police station has been published, in which the man who was until this morning a dangerous fugitive can clearly be seen.

A few days ago it was noticed that Alija Balijagic was moving in the territory of Priboj. DNA was extracted from a house he was suspected of staying in from time to time, in one of the villages around Goles. He was spotted first by local hunters.

The search was carefully planned and the fugitive was caught while asleep, at the best possible time because he could not offer any resistance, considering he was an armed and dangerous person, a police source told RINA.

During the 20 days Balijagic was evading law enforcement, he traveled over 100 kilometers, passing through villages in the munucipalities of Bijelo Polje and Pljevlja (Montenegro), as well as Prijepolje and Priboj (Serbia). He moved around a terrain that he knows extremely well, where he was hiding from the police for months after escaping from prison in Montenegro 20 years ago.

"It was difficult to decide what to do, since the rainfall was intense, but we were afraid that the tracks would disappear and that we would not be able to react. This is an area where Alija Balijagic would hide after he committed similar crimes in the past. We made the decision to immediately take action," Dragan Vasiljevic, assistant Serbian police director, told RTS.

During the arrest, two hunting rifles and a knuckleduster were found. There was also a large amount of ammunition in the suspect's pockets and next to him.

Vasiljevic noted that they found that both rifles were loaded with bullets.

"Balijagic was brought on foot to our vehicle, and was then transported to the premises of the police in Prijepolje, when we informed the prosecutor. Further action will be taken on his orders," Vasiljevic explained for RTS.
