The prime minister of Serbia, Milos Vucevic, stressed today that by the end of the week, the public could expect new information regarding resignations over the accident at the Novi Sad Railway Station.

A part of the entrance to the station collapsed on November 1, killing 14 people and seriously injuring three more.

"It's not a question of a race against time, it's a matter of complying with the norms. Certainly when we talk about it, we talk about short timeframes. These decisions are made with a cool head and cannot be carried by emotions, which are certainly present. I believe that the decisions we will make do not mean that things are done for the sake of doing something, but rather that decisions are made in terms of objective political responsibility.

I would like to, just as the president of the Republic did, ask, respecting the independence of the prosecutor's office, that they come out with information on how far they are in the investigative process, so that the Serbian public can be assured that the prosecutor's office is working on it," said Vucevic and added that the big question is whether the collapse was caused by some action or inaction, or a combination of both.

"It's not a question that's political in nature, it requires a technical analysis. Someone is certainly to blame. Someone must be held criminally accountable. It will not be easy for the prosecution. The prosecution must say how far it has come. I think 36 people have been questioned. Friday will mark two weeks since the accident happened. We will discuss political responsibility, which is not subjective, in the coming days."
