Srdjan Djokovic had surgery due to complications stemming from breaking his arm in April
The Djokovic family will soon celebrate their family patron saint feast, slava, which is November 21 in the Orthodox calendar - Archangel Michael (Serbian: Arandjelovdan).
The Djokovics are believers who respect Orthodox Christian customs, and preparations for a unique Serbian one - slava - are well under way in that family.
Srdjan Djokovic, the father of our best tennis player Novak Djokovic, recently underwent surgery in Belgrade at the Clinical Center of Serbia, and now everyone hopes that he will leave the hospital and be able to greet the guests on the day.
"Everyone hopes that Srdjan will fully recover and welcome the guests along with the family. He is a true head of the house. During slava, he always plays an important role, he makes sure everything is perfect. He takes care of every detail regarding Arandjelovdan," a source has told Blic.
Srdjan Djokovic's daughter-in-law, the wife of his youngest son Djordje, spoke to the press about his health a few days ago.
"I hope that Srdjan will get better. What I can't help but mention is that our Srki (Srdjan) is a true lion and overcomes everything as a winner, so I truly believe that he will get better and that he will join us for slava," Saska Djokovic told Republika.
