Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic has said that the events of November 5 in Novi Sad (violent protests) have nothing to do with the tragedy and accident that happened on November 1, when a part of the entrance to the railway station collapsed killing 14 people and seriously injuring three more.

"Some people from the world politics couldn't even wait for the victims to be pulled out of the rubble and immediatelly scheduled first rallies and protests, behaving like black ominous birds, seeing this as an opportunity to score political points. This culminated in the events in Novi Sad on November 5," he told RTS.

Vucevic added that everything that happened that evening was prepared in advance.

"They said it was not a march, but that it was time for action and that pets and children should not be brought (to the protest). This indicated that what happened was prepared in advance," he said.

According to the prime minister, most number of people who protested in Novi Sad on Tuesday came because they felt anger (because of the tragedy), while a smaller group was there to take advantage of the situation and exploit the railway station accident for politics.

He also stated that responsibility cannot end with the resignation of Minister Goran Vesic.

A session of the Presidency and of the Main Board of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) is scheduled for Friday, Vucevic revealed, where all current political events will be discussed.

He added that he hopes President Aleksandar Vucic, whom he invited to the meetings, will attend, despite having major state obligations.
