Monster who beat his girlfriend to death 2 years ago stabbed a pregnant woman: Prosecutor speaks for Telegraf

The Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Krusevac has told Telegraf about the case of Damir I. (23), who is suspected of beating his common law wife Dragana M. (23) to death.

In addition to information about this crime, the Prosecution also stated that the suspect has a previous conviction for attempted murder.

"Suspect D.I. as (at the time) a younger adult, was sentenced by the Higher Court in Krusevac to an educational correctional facility for committing the crime of aggravated attempted murder, which happened on June 13, 2020," the Prosecution told out portal.

They added that this sentence was then suspended by the same court in 2023.

We have learned unofficially that D.'I.'s previous victim was also his girlfriend who was pregnant when he attacked her with a knife.

Meanwhile, the Krusevac Proseuction issued an order to conduct an investigation against Damir I. (23), from Donje Rataje on suspicion that he committed the criminal act of aggravated murder of Dragana M.

During the questioning, the suspect presented his defense during which he partially admitted to the crime.

Also, an order was issued to perform an autopsy on the late Dragana M., and to subsequently submit the findings to this Prosecutor's Office.
