Serbia sends Ka-32 helicopter with six MUP Helicopter Unit crew, to help Greece fight raging wildfire
International humanitarian aid has been afforded to Greece today from Serbia, in the form of a firefighting helicopter belonging to the Helicopter Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia (MUP).
The assistance was sent based on an official request from Greece to activate the Civil Protection Mechanism of the European Union in order to provide help in extinguishing a large-scale wildfire, this one in the mountains in the municipality of Paggaio, Greece.
Therefore Serbia dispatched to Greece a Kamov (Ka) 32 helicopter, capable of carrying five tons of water at one time, along with six crew members from the Helicopter Unit of the MUP's Emergency Situations Sector.
