KFOR's Strategic Reserve Forces leave Kosovo and Metohija after 45-day mission

KFOR's Strategic Reserve Forces (SRF), initially deployed by Britain, left the Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija yesterday after a successful 45-day mission, according to a KFOR statement.

"This mission supported KFOR's efforts to provide a safe and secure environment for all people living in Kosovo. As part of this mission, the SRF and the Allied Reserve Force (ARF) performed various tasks, including routine patrols and reconnaissance missions, which took place in part along the administrative line (with central Serbia)," the statement added.

It continued to say that as part of the withdrawal of forces, an increase in the movement of vehicles and military equipment on the main transit roads was expected.

"KFOR thanks all communities for their understanding and will try to minimize any potential impact on their daily lives. These movements are crucial for the safe and orderly withdrawal of the forces," noted the statement.

KFOR also expressed gratitude for "the dedication and professionalism of the SRF during the mission, which strengthened NATO's peacekeeping mandate."
