Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic met in Budva on Monday with his Montenegrin counterpart Danilo Saranovic, with whom he discussed cooperation between the two countries in the field of interior affairs.

The meeting happened on the sidelines of the European Union-Western Balkans Ministerial Forum.

Dacic pointed out that cooperation between the Serbian and Montenegrin police should be intensified when it comes to the fight against organized crime, suppression of drug smuggling, irregular migration, people smuggling, human trafficking and high-tech crime.

Also, Dacic said that cooperation between the two police forces is good in terms of the exchange of operational information, joint training and professional development, as well as that there is room for further improvement there.

Dacic and Saranovic stated that the two countries' respective border police forces cooperate well, which is especially reflected in the mixed patrols, as well as that there is an opportunity to improve cooperation when it comes to implementing concrete activities to combat irregular migration and cross-border crime.

During the conversation, Dacic invited his Montenegrin colleague Saranovic to visit Serbia.
