Neighbor of minor who killed policeman in Bosanska Kurpa speaks about the boy: "Maybe some talked him into it"
Dzemal Balkic, the next door neighbor of a minor who committed this crime, told Avaz that he was one of the quietest boys, and that he would never have thought that he could do something like this.
After the attack on the police station in Bosanska Krupa, in Bosnia and Herzegovina, where a policeman was killed and another seriously wounded, everyone is shocked, especially local residents.
"If I were to bet here with a thousand people, I would say that he couldn't have done it. I don't know, maybe someone talked him into it. I don't know that he could do it of his own accord, he is a minor. Nobody here ever complained about him. I always praised him. Where did he get the idea that he could do that. I'm sorry he got himself into trouble," said Balkic.
He added that he had not managed to speak with the boy's parents and claims that he was "very good."
"He was well behaved. He was a good boy also towards the neighborhood. He'd always say hello. We didn't have any problems. Nor did he argue or fight with his friends. I was surprised when I heard that... I don't know what to say," said Balkic.
If Elmir S. (14) - the suspect in the attack on the police station in Bosanska Krupa when one policeman was killed and his colleague was wounded last night - is found guilty, he cannot be sent to prison.
Criminal sanctions against minors are prescribed by the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity, and Article 84, paragraph 2, clearly states that a younger minor cannot be sentenced to prison.
