Serbian woman Tamara Lapadatovic from Kladovo and her boyfriend Aleksandar Jokanovic from Montenegro died on Sunday in a serious traffic accident in New York City, when their motorcycle collided with a passenger vehicle near Manhattan's 3rd Avenue.

The crash was so terrible that Aleksandar and Tamara died instantly, while a younger man, who was driving a Toyota RAV4 that hit the motorcycle, got out of the vehicle after the accident and waited for the arrival of the police and an ambulance.

Soon the bodies of Tamara and Aleksandar were covered with white sheets, and the man from the Toyota was subsequently taken to the hospital and is said to be in a stable condition, but it is not known what exact injuries he sustained.

Funds are being raised on GoFundMe to help return Tamara's and Aleksandar's bodies to their homelands.

A friend of Tamara's told Telegraf.rs that he was in shock after her death.

"Only three days ago, she was jumping from a plane, she shared pictures on Instagram, she was overjoyed. And then I hear that she was killed on a motorcycle, that a moment of inattention took away such a wonderful life. She was brave, she had many plans and now it's all gone in an instant, we're all really affected a lot!," he said.
