Because of the arrival of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to the Ukraine-Southeast Europe summit in Dubrovnik, Croatia, this town is under police siege, with snipers, counter-snipers, the navy all on standby, security expert Bono Borjanovic told HTV.

"From the security measures regarding the movement route to the control of food and drinks, to anti-explosion; then route security, border surveillance, control of foreigners, control of domestic persons. So, in fact, all the measures we can imagine, especially today where drones and anti-drones are relevant; snipers, counter-snipers, navy, air force," said Borjanovic.

It is assumed, Borjanovic added, that up to 1,500 members of various services could be deployed to provide security for this gathering.

Zelensky will visit Croatia for the first time today for the Ukraine - Southeast Europe summit in Dubrovnik, which he is co-organizing together with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic.

This is the third summit in this format - the first was held in August 2022 in Athens, the second in February this year in Tirana, and the main goal of the Dubrovnik meeting is to express solidarity and support of the countries of Southeast Europe to Ukraine.
