Drunk driver who killed mother of 3 carried forged Croatian documents, says Dacic
Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said today that two days ago, a man whose Croatian driver's license and ID card identified him as Ivan Petrovic (36) was arrested in Serbia.
He was detained for causing a traffic accident. The Serbian police suspected that this wasn't the real identity of the person, and based on a notification from the Interpol office in Sarajevo, discovered that the Croatian documents Petrovic was carrying were forged.
"Two days ago, the police arrested Ivan Petrovic (36), for causing a traffic accident near Backi Petrovac when one person died. The suspect had a driver's license and a Croatian identity card with him. Due to doubts about the real identity of the person (suspect), information was requested from partner police forces, and by comparing fingerprints, it was established, based on a notification from Interpol Sarajevo, that this person is Tomislav Petrovic (36), a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, who has an international arrest warrant issued for him by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Austria, and that his Croatian documents were forged," said Minister Dacic.
