Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Ivica Dacic said last night that the speech of President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic at the General Assembly of the United Nations hit the essence regarding the collapse of the international legal system, which began with (NATO's) illegal aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro).

"The speech of President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic at the General Assembly of the United Nations hit the essence regarding the collapse of the international legal system, which began with the illegal aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia, without the approval of the UN Security Council," Dacic said, according to a statement from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

He stressed that this aggression created precedents, which ultimately led to the unilateral declaration of Kosovo's independence, and its recognition by the aggressor countries, "as well as the outbreak of wars in many parts of the world."

According to Dacic, Vucic's speech at the UN is the best diagnosis of the situation in the international community that has been heard at the UN in recent times.

"The whole world could clearly hear Serbia's position and how much Serbia is valued in the freedom-loving world. I fully support the views expressed by President Vucic, which are in the best national and state interest," Dacic pointed out.

Vucic said during the general debate of the 79th session of the UN General Assembly that despite the current difficulties in the world, Serbia stands in defense of the principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, through its activities and principled policy.
