Serbian Deputy PM Ivica Dacic meets with with Lee Ka-chiu, chief executive of Hong Kong

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia and Minister of Internal Affairs Ivica Dacic met today with Lee Ka-chiu, the chief executive of Hong Kong, a Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China.

Minister Dacic thanked the host for the warm welcome and expressed his satisfaction over this first, historic visit to Hong Kong and the first high-level meeting with the leader of this Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, which, due to its great economic strength, represents one of the world's largest financial and trade centers.

Dacic stressed the importance of establishing police and other forms of cooperation with Hong Kong, along the lines of agreements and documents on strategic cooperation signed by the presidents of Serbia and China, Aleksandar Vucic and Xi Jinping, and underlined the importance of further raising the level of strategic partnership and strengthening our steely friendship.

During the constructive conversation, the Serbian minister said that there are great prospects for future cooperation in areas of common interest, highlighting the security as a priority, especially areas such as the fight against transnational crime, the fight against high-tech crime and the fight against terrorist financing.

Sharing the opinion about the extraordinary relations between the two countries, Minister Dacic conveyed the greetings from Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic to Li Ka-chiu and invited him to visit Serbia, which the Chinese official accepted.
