"They broke his fingers one by one!": Locals on possible motive for murder of prominent Boljevac tavern owner
Sima "Piculj" Balasevic, the former owner of the tavern "Bolji Zivot" ("Better Life") in the town of Boljevac, was brutally murdered in his house in the village of Bogovina.
Before he died, several assailants allegedly brutally tortured him.
"Each of his fingers was broken. They broke them one by one. It is suspected that he was in conflict with someone, his pension was 200, 300 euros. No one would kill him for that. This is the most brutal murder in this area. Terrible! He was very respectable," the local told the Telegraf.
The police were informed that Balasevic's body was in the house at the entrance to the village on September 9 around 3 pm, it was confirmed for Ist Media by the police in Zajecar.
The killer(s) most likely entered the victim's house through a window in the back, tied him up, and then tortured him.
The victim's relatives revealed that when the police arrived, the scene in the house was gruesome. The man was tied up, and there were a number of injuries on his body. A knife was reportedly found next to a bed.
