The delegation of the Serb List presented today the difficult position the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija find themselves in, and demanded greater involvement of the international community and concrete actions by Brussels in order to condemn the behavior of the regime in Pristina.

This happened during a meeting held in northern Kosovska Mitrovica with the new head of the EU Office in Pristina, Aivo Orav.

The delegation of the Serb List, led by President Zlatan Elek, said that the Serb people suffer daily from the repression inflicted by the Pristina regime led by Albin Kurti, whose obvious goal is to expel Serbs from this region.

It was stressed that institutional violence is used against Serb youth as well, and that staged political actions against prominent Serbs have become a tool for harassment and pressure on the entire Serb community, the Serb List said in a post on Facebook.

During the meeting, representatives of the Serb List demanded greater involvement of the international community, de-escalation of the situation in the north of Kosovo and Metohija, and concrete actions by the European Union to protect the Serb people.

"The key to the problems faced by the Serbs lies in respecting the rights of our people, but also the signed agreements, the guarantor of which is the European Union. The formation of the Community of Serb Municipalities (ZSO) has now been delayed for more than 11 years, and this is the cause of many of the problems we are facing today in Kosovo and Metohija. Therefore we demand that the European Union takes a clear position in condemning the behavior of the regime in Pristina," the Serb List said in its statement.
