The agreement on the delivery of Russian gas to Serbia, which expires in March next year, could be extended by the end of this September, Anton Kobyakov, adviser to the Russian president, has told RIA Novosti today.

Kobyakov said that at the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin on Wednesday in Moscow, special emphasis was placed on extending the agreement between Moscow and Belgrade regarding the supply of gas.

He stressed that there is a possibility to extend the agreement during the Russian Economic Week, which will be held between September 26 and 28 in Moscow.

During his meeting with Vulin on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he intends to discuss agreements on the supply of gas to Serbia, which expires in March 2025.

He recalled that Russia plays a significant role in supplying Serbia with energy on time, and under very favorable conditions.

"We will talk about that, there are specific things that need to be resolved, I think our gas supply contracts expire in March 2025," the Russian leader said on Wednesday, RIA Novosti reports.

The international forum Russian Energy Week 2024 will be held in Moscow from September 26 to 28. The central theme of the event will be "Energy cooperation in a multipolar world."
