President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that he ten days agoreceived an invitation from Russian President Vladimir Putin to join the BRICS summit, which will be held from October 22 to 24 in Kazan, but added that at that time he will have important guests from abroad.

"I received a very kind invitation to join the BRICS summit on the 23rd and 24th of October, we will have important guests from abroad at that time, but I'd rather not speak now, we have many important visits and arrivals and departures, we will talk about that around October 10.

I better not tell you about everything we have on the agenda. As the kids say - it's crowded in the box (football analogy). I thank the BRICS people for the invitation, and President Putin. We also have New York, and I already know that I will have talks with at least six presidents and at least seven or eight prime ministers on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session," Vucic told reporters.

He also stated that Belgrade is celebrating 80 years since WW2 liberation on October 20, adding that numerous programs and events will be organized then.

"Don't forget that the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade is on October 20, and it was the Red Army that, for the most part, with the help of our troops, liberated Belgrade and brought freedom to our country together with Russia and everyone else who participated," said Vucic.
