Vucic says goodbye to Riblja Corba frontman: "Great man has left us, our Bora is gone"
President Aleksandar Vucic has reacted to the death of Bora Djordjevic, the legendary frontman of the Serbian and Yugoslav rock band Riblja Corba, who died today in Ljubljana.
"A great man is gone, our Bora is gone. He indebted us, with his songs and his great love for Serbia. Glory eternal and may God bless his soul. Dawn has broken over the Church of St. Marko (a line from one of the best known Riblja Corba songs), and it will be like that for the decades to come," the president wrote on his Instagram account.
The legendary rocker, frontman of Riblja Corba, Bora Djordjevic, died today, September 4, at the age of 72.
Bora died in a hospital in Ljubljana, where he was admitted due to serious lung problems.
The official page of the band announced the news of his passing.
"Dear friends, it is with sadness that we inform you that our friend and brother, Borisav Bora Djordjevic, has left us. Rest in peace, our dear Boki," the post reads.
President Vucic awarded Djordjevic with the Order of the Star of Karadjordje, first degree, during Statehood Day (Sretenje) in 2021.
