"Sad news woke us up, it's a great loss": Locals in Cacak mourn their Bora Djordjevic, legendary rock musician
This morning, the people of Cacak say they got the saddest news for them and their hometown. The legendary Serbian and Yugoslav rock musician Borisav "Bora" Djordjevic, a native of Cacak, died after a long and serious illness at the Clinical Center in Ljubljana, aged 72.
"It is with sadness and grief that we inform you that our friend and brother, Borisav Bora Djordjevic, has left us. Rest in peace, our dear Boki," his band, "Riblja Corba" posted on Facebook.
Bora Djordjevic was born in Cacak in 1952 and was the lead vocalist and songwriter of this band since its foundation in 1978.
"We were awakened by this saddest news, Bora was a legend of our city, someone because of whom Cacak was recognizable everywhere. This is a great loss for all the people of Cacak, for the regional rock scene," the locals told RINA.
According to them, "Cacak's legend" is a title that they all give him from the heart.
