The best athlete in the world, Novak Djokovic, has qualified for the second round of the US Open by defeating Radu Albot from Moldova (6-2, 6-2, 6-4), and his next opponent will be his compatriot Laslo Djere.

The Croatian tennis player and his former coach, Goran Ivanisevic, had great things to say about Djokovic, stressing that he was very glad that the Serbian finally managed to win a gold medal at the Olympic Games and that he would not be surprised if he went to the games in Los Angeles, as well.

Ivanisevic spoke for the portal Klix.ba in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"I spoke with Novak when he won the Olympic gold, and when he had knee surgery. I'm so happy about that (the medal) since I know how much it means to him, I know how much he wanted to win it and the way he ended up playing that final, how positively crazy he is, he might play in Los Angeles in four years, I wouldn't be surprised at all.

He played against a guy 16 years younger than him, who is faster and hits harder, but in that final everything turned around - neither was he faster than him, nor did he hit harder. At one point, Novak looked younger than Alcaraz, seriously, (I feel as happy) as if I won it, and kudos to him," Ivanisevic said.
