Ivica Dacic reveals why Croat singer Severina was stopped at border: "Serbia is free country"

Interior Minister Ivica Dacic revealed why Croatian singer Severina Vuckovic was stopped at the border between Croatia and Serbia last night, August 25.

Dacic confirmed that the Croatian singer was stopped by the border police, on the border with Croatia, based on a list of "verbal delicts (offenses)."

"Severina was neither detained nor arrested, nor was she refused entry to Serbia, but she was stopped for checks," Dacic said.

He said that because of all that, some lists of bans on entering the country will be abolished.

Dacic announced that he will request "abolition of the lists, when it comes to verbal offenses."

"Serbia is a free country and there is no verbal delict in our country, the lists will remain for people who commit crimes, terrorism. But don't let others teach us lessons, especially Croatia after a lawyer who listened to Baja Mali Knindza (Serb singer) in his car was convicted for that (in Croatia).

And now they are the ones to be telling us something about someone getting stopped at the border for two or three hours. We often find ourselves in a situation where there is criticism of our country from our neighbors, and a person simply has to say, 'don't you be the ones to lecture us'. I mean, I don't know, should we introduce the music police?!", Dacic asked while appearing on TV Pink.
