The headmaster of a Sanski Most high school, Nijaz Halilovic, was shot and killed in the attack in Sanski Most today, along with English teacher Gordana Nidzan and secretary Nisveta Kljunic.

The MUP of the Unsko-Sanski (USK) Canton confirmed that three high school employees were dead, and that the suspect tried to commit suicide afterwords.

The media say that the suspect is M.V., who was reportedly a maintenance worker at the school.

The motive is allegedly a previous dispute, given that the people who were shot dead today were all members of a commission that had suspended M.V., according to Nezavisne.

An investigation is underway, and strong police forces have been deployed around the school.

"For now, I can confirm that a firearm was used in the high school, and that three people were killed while one was seriously injured. All other details will be known after the investigation," said Adnan Beganovic, spokesman for the MUP of the Unsko-Sanski (USK) Canton.

Nijaz Halilovic (63) was a long-time member of the party SDP BiH, and was their deputy in Sanski Most.
