Serbian Deputy PM Aleksandar Vulin, who is on an official visit to Moscow, met on Wednesday with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Vulin and Lavrov agreed that bilateral cooperation between Serbia and Russia is very good and is developing at all levels, primarily thanks to the friendly and cordial relations between presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Vladimir Putin. They pointed out that both countries are interested in further improving the Serbian-Russian strategic partnership.

Lavrov expressed his support for the firm and consistent policy of President Aleksandar Vucic.

Vulin repeated that he is proud that Serbia is not part of the anti-Russian hysteria, and of the fact Serbia has not imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation.

He thanked Russia and Minister Lavrov for their principled stance regarding the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Serbia and their selfless support to the Serb people in fighting against a recent UN General Assembly resolution about Srebrenica.

Vulin pointed out that Russia has never set conditions for or blackmailed Serbia in order to provide it with its unreserved support, and that our country, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, is grateful for that and does not forget the centuries-old friendship between our two peoples.

The Serbian deputy prime minister and the Russian foreign minister discussed models and mechanisms for establishing cooperation between Serbia and the BRICS organization.

After their official meeting, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergei Lavrov hosted a formal lunch for Deputy Prime Minister of the Serbian Government Aleksandar Vulin.
