Members of the Helicopter Unit from the Sector for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Interior (MUP) of Serbia, who were sent to North Macedonia to help put out wildfires, have successfully completed their mission, assisted the neighboring country, and have now returned to Serbia.

"Since August 3, our brave crew was working side by side with their colleagues from North Macedonia to help put out wildfires in difficult conditions. In the space of four days, our pilots flew a Super Puma helicopter 74 times and released 248 tons of water over the areas affected by the fires - the settlement of Kosel north of Ohrid and Brezani in the territory of Ilinska Planina, as well as villages in the central part of North Macedonia, Papradiste and Oresje," the MUP announced on its Instagram account.

As stated, the Ministry is proud of our team that participated in this mission.

"Let our joint effort be a reminder that the boundaries between us are only physical, while true friendship and support knows no bounds," the post added.
