PM Vucevic to present results of first 100 days of new government on Friday

Prime Minister of Serbia Milos Vucevic will present the results of the first 100 days of the new government on Friday. The event will be held starting at 5:30 pm in the Ethnographic Museum, the government of Serbia announced.
On May 2, the Assembly of Serbia elected the new government headed by Vucevic. Presenting the composition and program of the government before the deputies, he said that the government he would lead will be one of continuity to the greatest extent, and that after fiscal consolidation in 2014, Serbia entered a phase of development unparalleled in its recent history.
The government will continue to lead a foreign policy that will be based on political independence and military neutrality, and full membership in the EU remains a strategic goal, said Vucevic. He also said at the time that the biggest challenge will undoubtedly be the defense of the country's sovereignty and territorial integrity, that is, the fight for Kosovo and Metohija.

When it comes to defense and security, he said that the goals are strengthening of the defense industry and improvement of the development of the Army, improvement of the standard of living of the members of the Serbian Army, and that a four-month mandatory military service will be proposed.
He said that one of the main tasks of the new government will be to raise and preserve the standard of living of citizens through economic strengthening and advancement, as well as reducing the unemployment rate and increasing salaries and pensions.
The government that was elected on May 2 has 31 members, five of whom are ministers without portfolios. A third of the cabinet is new compared to the previous one led by Ana Brnabic.
