Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said last night that Pristina wants to use the opportunity to provoke conflicts in Kosovo and Metohija before the US election, in order to draw Serbia into a conflict with NATO.

"And have no doubt that this is one of their goals and the main goal. Because they know that it's a question what they will be able to do after December, to what degree they will be able to provoke," Vucic told RTS in Vrbas, where he was visiting the final works on the Vrbas Nova railway station.

Vucic was responding to a journalist asking him to comment on Pristina's announcements that they would open a bridge on the Ibar and the Serb protests after that.

He added that Pristina is not interested in dialogue and that it is clear that the situation in the world is accelerating processes that Pristina thought would be restricted or limited.

"You saw a very sharp, clear and unequivocal warning from (Richard) Grenell, who will certainly be one of the very close associates of possibly future President Trump. But even if that doesn't happen, I'm not sure that the current, and the possible or potential future Democrat government in the US wants to endure and tolerate this kind of behavior for a long time," Vucic said.

He said that he knows how difficult it is for our people in Kosovo and Metohija and that the state of Serbia will employ a significant number of people there in health and educational institutions in order to provide additional financial assistance.

"And what I have always said is that there will be no pogrom. And I know that it is a difficult situation, that pains me, worries and torments me every day. But we have to lead a smart, serious, responsible and wise policy", concluded the president.
