Citizens of Azerbaijan E.I. (53) and N.S. (40), as well as citizen of Georgia T.G. (22) were arrested in an operation carried out by the police in Surdulica in cooperation with the Regional Border Police Center with jurisdiction of the border between Serbia and Bulgaria.

They were arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of illegal border crossing and people smuggling.

E.I. is suspected of organizing the smuggling and transportation of four irregular migrants that the police found in the area of Surdulica last night, while N.S. and T.G. are suspected of driving in front of him in a car to inform him if the police were ahead.

The public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Vladicin Han ordered the suspects to be detained for up to 48 hours, after which they will be brought to the prosecutor along with a criminal complaint.
