Well-known world politician delighted by Novak crossing himself: "Among most beautiful things about Olympics"
Prominent Italian politician Matteo Salvini had only words of praise for Novak Djokovic, who won the gold medal at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The former prime minister, now deputy prime minister of Italy was particularly delighted by Nole's gesture at the end of the match, when the Serbian knelt on the ground, crossed himself (by making the Orthodox sign of the cross) and then raised his hands to the sky.
"Seeing the great Djokovic, a champion who has won everything, kneel on the court after his victory, and make the sign of the cross while looking up in tears to the sky, is one of the most beautiful things about these Olympics," Salvini wrote.
