As many as 4 people drowned in Serbia in just a few days! MUP's urgent appeal: Follow these rules!
A 34-year-old man drowned yesterday on the Ada Ciganlija Sava River lake in Belgrade. He fell from a pedal boat he was on with his nephew (9).
The Gendarmerie are still searching for him today.
Prompted by this, Gendarmerie's Diving Unit issued a new appeal on the official Instagram page of the Serbian Interior Ministry, MUP:
In the last few days, four people lost their lives in our rivers and lakes. These tragedies could have been avoided, so please be extremely careful near water.
➡️Don't take risks - Swim only in designated areas that have lifeguards. They can save your life.
➡️Always keep an eye on your children. A second of inattention can be fatal.
➡️Only go in the water sober - Alcohol and drugs reduce your ability to react to danger.
➡️Adjust to the water - Splash yourself before going in to avoid shock.
➡️Do not overestimate your abilities - Even the best of swimmers don't just swim across a river. Think before you jump in.
➡️Wear alife jacket - Enjoying a boat ride is safe only with the right equipment.
Water is powerful and dangerous. Follow the advice, be responsible and save your life!
