Serbian President Alekandar Vucic last night in Belgrade welcomed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and announced that during today's talks he expects agreements that will represent a turning point for Serbia on its path to even faster economic growth.

Vucic, after welcoming Scholz at the Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade, announced on Instagram that "tomorrow (Friday) is a big day, during which we will consider the future of Serbia and the opening of new opportunities for our country and people."

In addition to President Vucic, Scholz was also welcomed by President of the National Assembly Ana Brnabic, Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Djedovic Handanovic, German Ambassador in Belgrade Anke Konrad, as well as Ambassador of Serbia in Berlin Snezana Jankovic.

After entering Serbian airspace, Scholz's plane was escorted by two fighter pairs of Serbian Air Force and Air Defense's MiG-29 fighters, with a red carpet and the Serbian Guard unit during the ceremony at the airport.
