We asked Steve Kerr about late Dejan Milojevic: US coach is emotional as he reveals what he'll do in his honor
The Serbian basketball team is currently in the United Arab Emirates where, in the magnificent Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, they will play against the US as well as Australia - part of the preparations for the Olympic Games, which will be held from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.
Telegraf is at the scene, and our reporter had the opportunity to speak with the coach of the United States, Steve Kerr.
The leader of the main favorites to win the gold medal in Paris, among other things, talked about the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump, while Telegraf's question had to do with basketball coach Dejan Milojevic, who recently passed away, and with whom Kerr worked at the Golden State Warriors.
Kerr spoke with a lot of emotion about his former colleague.
"Deki was an incredible friend, a wonderful coach, husband, and father. I think about him every day," said Kerr.
Then, the Golden State and the US national team coach announced that he will honor Deki in a special way when they play against Serbia.
"When we play the Serbians, I will for sure wear my 'Brate' (Serbian word for, 'brother') shirt and talk to some of my counterparts there. We'll definitely mention Deki and how much we miss him," Kerr concluded.
Steve Kerr had worked with Dejan "Deki" Miljevic at the Golden State Warriors. In the middle of the last season, he left the US to travel to Serbia in ordder to attend the funeral of the Serbian coach.
