Telegraf at "Dream Team" training: Americans seem like "aliens" - but we are not nothing to scoff at either...

The Serbian basketball team is currently in the United Arab Emirates where, in the magnificent Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, the squad will play against the US as well as against Australia, all as part of preparations for the Olympic Games that will be held from July 26 to August 11 in Paris.

Telegraf is at the scene and will follow developments in the Emirates in the coming days.

We got our first impression of the teams during a training session held by the US team. According to many, led by Steve Kerr, this is one of the best teams that the Americans have sent to the competition. Some go a step further and point out that this team is perhaps even stronger than the one led by Michael Jordan, Larry Bird, John Stockton, Charles Barkley, Magic Johnson and others in Barcelona in 1992...

As was the case during the training sessions which Telegraf had the opportunity to witness during the World Championship in Manila, this time too, high professionalism is at the forefront. The Americans are punctual, stick to the protocol. There are no improvisations. Everything that has been agreed is respected to the last, so the basketballers answer the journalists' questions "precisely" and not a second longer than expected. Of course, during the time you have, if you fight for your space, you can ask them anything, and they will answer.

Thus, Telegraf had the opportunity to ask questions to Steph Curry, who well remembered the defeat against Serbia in Novi Sad, while he was a member of his country's youth team, as well as a victory in 2014. On the other hand, coach Steve Kerr emotionally answered Telegraf's question about Dejan Milojevic, and Jayson Tatum had words of praise for Serbia and Nikola Jokic.

Interestingly, the same relationship they have with the media, they have with the game. It is known exactly what is done during which part of the training session, and the roles of the support staff are meticulously divided with everyone doing their job.

Of course, the top star of the team is surely LeBron James. When he appeared on the court, all the reporters turned towards him as if stars like Anthony Davis, Joel Embiid, Adebayo and others did not exist.

His influence is enormous, and when you consider who is around him, the situation is completely clear. However, the mere mention of Bogdan and Jokic makes Americans uncomfortable. The fact is that they are not afraid of anyone, but they are cautious, at least when it comes to Serbians. When asked about Serbia, they often mention the key players in our team, and this indicates the respect those enjoy.

Serbia will have a difficult task at the Olympic Games, and the first of the "clashes" is planned for July 17 in Abu Dhabi. The head coaches will probably hide a lot, but it's not a bad idea to get to know your rivals.
