Petkovic and Starovic meet with Chen Bo: In China, Serbia always has outstretched hand of friendship and help

President of the China Institute of International Studies and Secretary General of the Xi Jinping Thought on Diplomacy Center Chen Bo, hosted today in Beijing a high political delegation of the Serbian Progressive Party (SNS), which is on a visit to China.

The former Chinese ambassador to Serbia discussed with the delegation led by members of the SNS Presidency Petar Petkovic and Nemanja Starovic the current international relations in the world and the fruitful and friendly cooperation between Serbia and China, which is based on the idea of building a community for a common future in the new era. Chen Bo, who left a strong mark in Serbia during her term as the ambassador, addressed the participants in fluent Serbian and welcomed them.

"I'm glad to see friends from afar! Here you will never be facing conditions and pressure, instead you will always encounter an extended hand, friends, support and help. The example of our two countries shows that even countries with different social systems, economic development, religion, and culture can achieve strong ties through mutually beneficial development within the framework of the community for the common future of humanity," she said during a panel discussion attended together with the delegation from Serbia.

Petkovic, who is also the director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, told the panel that Serbia, led by President Aleksandar Vucic, is successfully fending off various forms of pressure, especially regarding Kosovo and Metohija, and that it resolutely preserves its independent and freedom-loving policy, also the fundamental values of the People's Republic of China.

Minister Starovic informed his interlocutors in detail about Serbia's foreign policy position and the challenges the country faces every day on its path to remaining independent.
