Hot weather is expected during the night as well in the coming period

A heatwave continues in Serbia, and it will be even hotter in the coming days. Temperatures were already exceeding 30° Celsius in Serbia this morning.

The country will be under the influence of a high thermal ridge coming from the southwest, while a hot air mass will be contentiously arriving from north Africa.

At the same time, under the influence of an anticyclone, the skies will be clear and the weather stable.

Today, temperatures will range from 34 to 38°C, in Belgrade up to 36°C.

It will be even hotter from Wednesday to Friday, with maximum temperatures of 35 to 39°C, in Belgrade up to 37-38°C.

The weekend will also be sunny and hot, with temperatures reaching 36 to 40°C on Saturday.

On Sunday, it will be a few degrees cooler only in Vojvodina and in western Serbia, with occasional thundershowers.

According to current forecasts, this heatwave will continue during the next week, with temperatures above 35°C, with peak intensity from July 15 to 20 in the east of Serbia, (up to 40-41°C) in the towns of Negotin and Zajecar.

In Belgrade, in the province of Vojvodina in the north, and in larger urban areas, over the next 10 days temperatures will never drop below 20°C (25°C in Belgrade) even during the night.

According to today's forecasts, a significant cooling or precipitation is nowhere in sight, and this heatwave is expected to last at least until July 20.

As it is accompanied by very dry weather, with a deficit of rainfall, extreme caution is recommended, i.e., people should not light fires outdoors to avoid the risk of starting wildfires.

In the next ten days, the UV index values will be extremely high, too, so the advice is not to stay in the sun for more than 10 minutes without adequate protection from 10 am until 4 pm.

This weather also brings with it the risk of heatstroke and sunstroke, therefore people should follow their doctor's advice.
