Representatives of the Belgrade delegation will take over the remains of two persons from the Pristina delegation on behalf of the families, while the remains of one person will be taken over by his family members
Representatives of the Belgrade Working Group for Missing Persons from the Commission for Missing Persons will take over from the Pristina representatives the identified remains of three Serb civilians killed in Urosevac, Prizren and Pristina in 1999.
The Commission's records still list 567 persons as missing from the war in the province of Kosovo and Metohija.
The takeover of human remains will take place at the Merdare administrative crossing at noon, after which the head of the Belgrade delegation and the president of the Commission, Veljko Odalovic, will address the media.
The identification of the remains of the three persons in question was carried out through DNA analysis after representatives of the Commission collected additional reference samples from the relatives in order to identify the remains that had been located in a morgue in Pristina.
Representatives of the Belgrade delegation will take over the remains of two persons from the Pristina delegation on behalf of the families, while the remains of one person will be taken over by his family members.
The funerals will be held in Velika Plana, Krusevac and Belgrade, in accordance with the wishes of the families.
The Commission also said in a statement that the process of identifying the victims of Serb nationality, who died in the southern Serbian province, continues in this way, which is of particular importance for the families of the missing, who have been trying for years to find and bury the remains of their loved ones in a dignified manner.
