Walnut-sized hail hits Cacak and surroundings: Harvest just started, and raspberries are already destroyed

After heavy showers and thunder, hail and strong stormy winds that hit the Zlatibor District, the damage is already considerable.

Hailstones fell on Pozega and its surroundings and caused a fair amount of material damage to citizens, with the consequences visible in the photos published on the 192.rs Instagram account.

Raspberry orchards suffered considerable damage.

Photos are also coming from the village of Banjica near Cacak, where walnut-sized hailstones were falling.

Large hailstones, up to 10 centimeters in diameter, came from the biggest hail cloud today. The storm is moving from the Kraljevo area towards the east and northeast.

A heavy storm also hit Jelica, a mountain located south of the town of Cacak. The visibility from cars was very low, driving conditions were difficult with the wind picking up along with the hailstorm.

The state meteorological authority, RHMZ, previously issued a warning that the Zlatibor District (from Kosjeric to Pozega) would be affected by heavy showers with thunder, hail and strong, stormy winds this morning.
