Vucic: As far as I'm concerned elections are over, I don't have time to deal with those issues
President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic said today that elections are over as far as he is concerned and that he has no time to deal with who will form the (local) governments in Vracar, Stari Grad (Belgrade municipalities), or in some other places.
"I don't deal with that. Do you know how complicated it is to organize this (All Serb) Assembly, do you know how many problems await us? I know that we have 11 million kilograms of sugar, 14 million kilograms of salt in commodity reserves, so I deal with these things. For me, elections are over, the job is up to state bodies, institutions. I told both sides what I think, and I told them to care about the people," Vucic said today at the Zemun Technical-Passenger Train Station.
He added he does not have the strength to deal with those issues.
"Three evenings in a row we have been working on the Assembly until midnight, something you don't see. I saw (Milorad) Dodik off to St. Petersburg, then we continued working. I deal with who goes to Switzerland, who doesn't, there is also the free trade agreement with Egypt, the free trade agreement with the UAE, will we have enough oil, when will Kostolac be operational, why did gas jump from 300 and 320 (dollars) to 400 and 420, why did the price of electricity jump in the market. I don't have time to deal with who will form governments in Vracar and Stari Grad and other places," said Vucic.
When asked if he saw the front pages of newspapers that claim he was "buying the love of the people by force," Vucic said that he did not, but added that no one had won more convincingly, not only in Serbia, but in Europe.
"This is a free country, everyone has the right to say what they want. I am committed to the year 2027 and what we have to do - the agenda of growth, increasing salaries and pensions in the coming period," said Vucic.
He stated that in New Belgrade, Vracar and Nis, the ballots were re-examined, and that "everything is as it was written (in election reports)", that is, that errors amounting to one ballot paper at each have been established at two polling stations.
Asked if the race was "close" Vucic said that the opposition did not get a large number of votes, but that people expressed their dissatisfaction by voting for groups of citizens who do not want to be linked with either the opposition and the government.
"It's important to look at irresponsibile approach in implementing a good policy, because Nis had the highest rate of wage growth and I dare say - the highest investments in the last 10 years," said Vucic.
In accordance with that, they also have to solve problems within the party, added Vucic, referring to the ruling SNS.
