Guest shoots in the air, slashes priest with knife, runs away: Drama during coming-of-age celebration

V.J., a priest from the village of Kovacevac, near the suburban Belgrade municipality of Mladenovac, was injured with a knife on Sunday evening during his daughters' coming-of-age celebration.

It happened when one of the guests, Ivan P., attacked him in the venue where the party was being held.

Telegraf.rs has learned that Ivan P. first brandished a pistol and was shooting in the air, and then grabbed a knife and cut the priest after he warned him not to do shoot.

After the attack, the suspect fled, and the police, by order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office in Belgrade, are currently looking for him.

V.J. suffered minor injuries - superficial cuts, for which he received medical treatment.

The motive behind the incident will be determined during the investigation.
