Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic underwent knee surgery in Paris this morning, writes Gazzetta dello Sport.

Yesterday, Djokovic decided to withdraw from the French Open, after injuring the meniscus in his right knee during the round of 16 match against Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo.

On Monday, Djokovic defeated Cerundolo 6-1, 5-7, 3-6, 7-5, 6-3, but after the match and additional examinations, he decided to withdraw from the tournament due to injury.

The Italian press says that the Serbian tennis player will be out of action for three weeks due to surgery, which is why he will most likely miss Wimbledon.

It is also reported that Djokovic wants to recover before the Olympic Games that begin on July 26 in Paris.
