A suspect in the murder of Danka Ilic, Srdjan Jankovic, yesterday denied any guilt while giving his testimony at the prosecutor's office. He spoke for three hours about the crime that brought Serbia to its feet on March 26 this year, to claim that he had nothing to do with the heinous act.

A Telegraf team visited the surroundings of Bor and spoke with the father of suspect, who was in a tavern having a beer with his friends.

"I don't know anything, I haven't heard from my son, I heard everything I know on television," the father said.

There is silence in the homes of the suspects, and the families do not want to comment on anything, which is why the mystery of the murder of 2-year-old Danka is only deepening.

Danka Ilic disappeared from in front of a house in Banjsko Polje near Bor on March 26, after which the entire country was looking for her for days. At one point, the investigation path led to Vienna, which gave our fellow citizens hope that the unfortunate child was spotted there and still alive. But, unfortunately, that turned out not to be the case.

On April 4, the police arrested Srdjan Jankovic and Dejan Dragijevic, who are suspected of running over Danka with a car, then putting her in the trunk, at some point strangling her, and disposing of the body at a garbage dump. The body has not yet been found.

Immediately after the arrests Dejan and Srdjan admitted to the crime, including that Jankovic was the one to move the child's body, only for Dejan to change his testimony shortly afterwards and say that Srdjan had nothing to do with the crime.

He claimed that it was he who killed Danka, and that his father and brother helped him move the body. The two were then also arrested, but Dragijevic's brother died after spending 48 hours in police custody, while the father was recently released pending the outcome of the proceedings.

Dejan is the only one who has confessed to the crime so far. His mother died soon after her other son, and while Dejan and his father were still in custody.
