Brnabic: Serbian voters' key message is that they want stability and security
The president of the Serbian National Assembly, Ana Brnabic, said today that the citizens sent a key message that they want stability, security, for the work to continue, and that they do not want conflicts.
"They don't want instability, they don't want uncertainty and they don't want any political conflicts. I think that especially on (local) election day, the citizens punished to the greatest extent what the opposition was saying - that they wanted instability and conflicts," Brnabic told TV Prva.
She assessed that the opposition tactic was wrong from start to finish and that she was disappointed by it.
"We can disagree in the parliament, but we can talk. That kind of physical showdowns with those they disagree with, I hope we won't be seeing that," said Brnabic.
According to her, none of the citizens wants that, because Serbia has a standard that has never existed before, and pointed out that by 2027, the average salary in Serbia will be (equivalent to) 1,400 and pensions to 650 euros.
The electoral list made up of the SNS and its coalition partners has President of Serbia Aleksandar Vucic, whose work is valued by the people, she said.
Brnabic assessed that the opposition should focus on the interests of Serbia and its citizens, to build and make plans and programs for which people will vote.
Speaking about the ODIHR report, she said that there were two key things that were not in the report - there was not a single sentence about call centers. Brnabic added that ODIHR visited three call centers in Belgrade and that they did not have a single remark or criticism.
Another important thing, Brnabic said, is that the report does not mention anywhere the name of Aleksandar Vucic being used in the name of the list.
She concluded that the fact that citizens who changed their place of residence in the last 11 months could not vote at their new address only took the votes away from the opposition, because as Brnabic said, "people felt humiliated, that the opposition did not trust them."
