Minister of Defense Bratislav Gasic has visited the 63rd Parachute Brigade at the military airport in the town of Nis named after Sergeant-Pilot Mihajlo Petrovic.

Gasic toured the facilities for parachute maintenance and attended the training of members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, during which segments of combat training, preparations for performing a parachute jump, as well as classic and special parachute landing were demonstrated.

According to the Ministry of Defense, Gasic was able to see the level of training, readiness, and high morale of the members of that special unit.

"This is the year in which the 63rd Parachute Brigade marks eight decades of its existence. A long tradition that is filled with heroism of its members, victories in battles, the lives of its soldiers laid down to defend their people are the pride of the burgundy beret that its members honorably wear, protecting the reputation of the brigade," he said.

The minister stressed that he is especially glad that young people are joining the brigade, who have the opportunity to learn from the best and to feel what it means to be a member of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, because unity and the spirit of community are what make this unit stand out.
