Man who tried to protect his son was beaten to death here: The scene, children's park, deserted today

DJ.M. (40) died in the Emergency Center in Belgrade after he was beaten in a children's park in Vozdovac at around 18:20 yesterday, when he tried to protect his son.

The police are intensively searching for two unknown persons, and are still working to establish all the facts and circumstances regarding the attack.

The body has been transported to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy.

The Higher Public Prosecutor's office in Belgrade stated that the man suffered head injuries.

According to unofficial information, the victim's son complained yesterday that two youths were teasing him in the park. He then went outside and confronted them. After he was assaulted, DJ.M. managed to get inside the building, where his wife found him and called the ambulance and the police.

The victim died later in the hospital.

DJ.M. is the brother of Vice President of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) entity and Minister of Development and Entrepreneurship Vojin Mijatovic.
