Minister Dacic: West pressuring countries that might support resolution on Srebrenica

Serbian Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic said today that the West is putting a lot of pressure on countries that might support the resolution on Srebrenica (to decide to d it) and added that although the result of the vote will not go in Serbia's favor, the Western countries will not be satisfied with it, either, because they expect a two-thirds majority.

Speaking about the UN (General Assembly) session where a draft Srebrenica resolution will be put for a vote, Dacic told TV Pink that the situation is quite difficult and that it is mission impossible for Serbia to achieve success in the sense of winning the vote, but that Western countries will not be satisfied either because they expect a two-thirds majority.

"I spoke personally with 73 ministers of foreign affairs, because of my friendly relations with them. I previously spoke with the late (foreign) minister from Iran. However, the situation changes from day to day. Now there is a new minister of foreign affairs and there are now these additional consultations," said Dacic.

He stated that many countries will abstain during the voting in the UN, but that the rules are such that only votes for and against are counted.
